Budgam, Jun 22 (KNO): The Urs of Sufi saint Syed Soliha Khansahib was celebrated with religious fervor at Khansahib area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district in which thousands of devotees participated on Saturday.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Urs is celebrated here on 21st June with thousands of devotees thronging the place to participate in the special prayers.
On the occasion, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khansahib, Tariq Ahmad Malik, DySP Khansahib, Gulam Mohiuddin Malik, Awkaf President, Hakeem Ashraf and EX minister and MLA Hakeem Yaseen visited the shrine and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the region.
SDM Khansahib, Malik Tariq on the occasion said that, “adequate arrangements were put in place for the devotees.”
Mohammad Shafi, one of the devotees, said that “Khansahib is blessed as Syed Soliha Khansahib who resided here and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the region and country and it’s the reason that Khansahib has got its name from the name of Syed Soliha Khansahib and said people from various corners visit the shrine on this day.”—(KNO)
